Southwestern Power Administration, an agency within the Department of Energy, contracts with Wyandotte Nation’s Wyandotte Technologies for services support. Wyandotte Technologies has a long-term opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer at Southwestern Power Administration’s Springfield, Missouri facility.
Responsibilities:
· Provide programming support, enhancement and testing on custom developed applications
· Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies for service delivery and improvement
· Web development and support
· Database development and support
· Assist System Administrators with deployment of first party applications
· Work with Network Administrators to ensure seamless deployment of applications into highly access restricted environments
· Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis and recommend preventative measures
· Must have excellent comprehension of and adherence to processes and procedures related to the software development lifecycle
· Must have excellent communication skills and follow through with clients and team members
· Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Must be able to work well both independently and with a team of developers as project planning requires
Education Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science (or similar) and 3+ years of experience in Software Development OR;
· 7+ years of experience in Software Development
· Experience with the following technologies and concepts are a plus
o C#, .NET, JavaScript, Visual Studio, C++, Python, Relational Databases, Web Development (WAMP), Splunk, ServiceNow, modern version control (Mercurial, Git, TFS), SCADA
Job Requirements:
· Some work may include evening and/or weekend hours
· Assist with a 24/7 on call rotation to support real-time SCADA operations
· Some travel may be required
· Must be a U.S. Citizen
· No relocation |
