Job Description: Maintenance Project Manager

Job Description:
The contractor is responsible for managing process improvement projects and coordinating the Work Planning program in the Western Area Power Administration, Sierra Nevada Region (SNR) using standard project management tools, techniques and practices. The contractor leads the coordination and management of department projects. Projects typically require coordination and cooperation among numerous functional areas such as engineering, maintenance, environmental, information technology, operations, power marketing, procurement and administration. The nature of the work predominantly involves assignments which are Region-wide in scope, requiring the contractor to establish and manage regional teams, and at times cross-regional teams. The contractor is the primary point of contact for one or more project sponsors.

Scope of responsibility includes project guidance, plans, and procedures to enable successful construction project management support for a range of design and construction projects as well as initiating process improvement projects for associated processes. Coordinate project schedules, conduct Work Planning meetings, review specifications, and provide project status.
Project Status and Updates. Evaluate and track individual and aggregate project status, schedules, and costs/budgets of ongoing assigned projects. Provide status reports weekly, monthly, and quarterly on all projects. Maintain and update the Comprehensive Project Log as a key communication tool for senior management. Ensure communications on projects that overlap or impact one another are managed effectively.
Coordinate/Facilitate Meetings: Conduct and support Work Planning and review meetings to support project scheduling and communications to a ten year time horizon.
Provide Risk Management: Notify the Maintenance management of project risks and required government action. Risks to be managed include, but are not limited to, schedule slippage, resource allocation, and budget overruns.
Minimum Qualifications:
? Must have 3years minimum field experience in project management.
? Individual must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
? Must be self-driven, organized and able to work in a fast pace team environment.
? Strong experience with MS Project or similar applications.
? Bachelor Degree or higher.
? Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem solving skills.
? Must be able to plan, prioritize, and pay attention to details.
? Demonstrate experience in contract management and administration of complex/multiple projects with several contracts running concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications:

? Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
? Experience in organized markets (CAISO, MISO, SPP), utility industry knowledge and technology initiatives
? Experiences with Electrical and/or Civil Engineering a plus.
? Utility Industry experience preferred
