Job Description: Wyandotte Services has a requirement to provide a Construction and Maintenance planning leader for Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). This position oversees a portfolio of construction and maintenance projects and supporting activities, including work planning, scheduling and cost estimation in the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Sierra Nevada Region (SNR) using standard project scheduling and management tools, techniques, and practices.

Job Description:

Work Planning. The contractor leads the coordination of the overall work planning effort. The contractor is responsible for performing the duties that result in successful planning and execution of external or internal high voltage electric utility scale projects. Projects typically require coordination and cooperation among numerous functional areas such as engineering, maintenance, environment, information technology, operations, power marketing, procurement and administration.

Scope of responsibilities include: estimating costs; and resources; and planning; and scheduling of projects in the near term and future that align with budget formulations and allotted labor resources to enable construction and maintenance projects to be completed on time and within budget; and the periodic development, analysis, maintenance, delivery and presentation of project portfolio executive reports and dashboards. Gather requirements, perform market research, seek and engage internal capabilities for both Process and Project Portfolio Management tools, methodologies, solutions and software. Projects can vary from internally resourced projects to minor and complex externally contracted projects. The integration of individual project schedules, cost estimates, design packages, and project specifications for incorporation into the work planning Program is an essential function.

Communication And Coordination of Meetings: The successful candidate shall have interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate and facilitate work scheduling and planning meetings in group formats as well as with telephone and web based conferences. The successful candidate shall also have experience with quality management and process improvement to evaluate individual and regional project schedules to guide and continually improve the Program to avoid project overlap that impacts the same labor force. These skills are also used in providing guidance to manage project risks.
